Tulia Tee Sewing Hacks

My newest sewing pattern, the Tulia Tee calls for hacks! It is an easy cut, which makes it very simple and satisfying to hack into slightly different shapes. I came up with three different hacks that I want to talk you through.

Tulia Tee Long Sleeve Hack

To add a long sleeve to the Tulia, I measured from my side neck to my wrist to determine how long I want my sleeves to be. I then lengthened the existing sleeve on the Tulia to what I have measured plus 1.5 cm / 5/8 inches hem allowance. Wrap your measuring tape around your wrist to decide how wide you want the sleeve opening to be (do not forget to add 1cm / 3/8 inch seam allowance to either side). Make sure your front and back sleeve pattern pieces are identical. Sew it up as usual following the instructions.

I used base size S for this project and lengthened the sleeve to 66cm / 26 inches.

Tulia Tee Crop ToP Hack

The easiest Tulia hack that I tried, is the crop top. Simply shorten the pattern by about 25cm / 10inches and sew it up as usual. I used base size L for my crop top and got this result:

Tulia Tee Dress Hack

Lastly, you can hack your Tulia into a dress by lengthening all of the pattern pieces. I initially lengthened my Tulia by 30cm / 12 inches but then realized that it was too long for my taste when I first tried it on. I then shortened it by 15cm / 6 inches. If you want to achieve the same look, just add 15cm to your pattern pieces. I used base size XS, as I didn’t want the dress to be too oversized.

I also cut the back on the fold in one piece to get rid of the centre back seam because I wanted to use it as pyjamas.

I hope this blog post inspired you to hack your next Tulia Tee project. Please share photos with me on Instagram or send me an email if you try any of these hacks, I can not wait to see them!
