The Sicily Leg, Sleeve and Back Hacks

Sicily slip dress hacking is so fun, because only the sky is the limit with possibilities to adapt this pattern. You can play with the fabric choice, the length of the dress or the straps and create a whole new look without loosing the Sicily patterns original elegance.

The Sicily Cami Hack

This is one of my favourite Sicily slip dress hacks. This elegant cami pairs perfectly with wide leg pants or trousers and is a classic and feminine staple.

This hack is super easy and quick. You can use the original pattern and just cut off the fabric at your desired length.

The Sicily Maxi Hack

Perfect for weddings, bridesmaids dresses or other special occasions. The maxi length gives the slip dress a more formal and elegant look.

Like the cami hack, this hack is super easy and quick. To get the maxi length, you can simply extend the side seams of your Sicily front and back pattern pieces. You can decide on the width of your skirt too, depending on how much flare you want. One problem you might run into with this hack is the width of your fabric. Your patterns pieces are going to be very big and since they need to be cut on the bias, this could be an issue with the width of your fabric. You can solve this problem by adding a diagonal seam to the front and back of your dress.

The Sicily Mini Hack

This beautiful adaption shows a little more leg which creates a youthful look without loosing the timeless elegance.

This is a very easy hack, simply exchange the length of view A (skinny straps and midi length) for the length of view B (wide straps and mini length) and there you have your spaghetti strap mini dress!

The Sicily Skirt Hack

The Sicily skirt is so versatile since you can style it in a more casual way for every day wear or you can dress it up easily with high heels, lipstick or more jewelry. This elegant skirt is definitely a wardrobe staple.

Use the bottom half of the Sicily pattern to create a bias cut skirt with an elastic waistband. @sewbakemake has a great tutorial for hacking the Sicily pattern into a skirt pattern, watch it here.
